Aljazira Bank Taps Thunes Network for Saudi Global Remittances
Aljazira Bank has partnered with Thunes to upgrade international money transfers for Saudi customers, improving speed, transparency, and global reach.
Aljazira Bank has selected Thunes, a cross-border payments infrastructure provider, to power its international remittance services, the two companies announced from Riyadh on Sept. 28, 2026. The strategic collaboration is designed to expand the bank's global payment coverage while delivering faster and more transparent transfers for customers sending money abroad from Saudi Arabia.
The partnership leverages Thunes' proprietary payment network, which the company describes as a "Smart Superhighway" for moving funds across borders. For Aljazira Bank customers, the arrangement is expected to translate into broader destination reach and greater visibility into the status and cost of outbound transfers — two factors that have historically frustrated remittance senders in the Gulf region.

Aljazira Bank's adoption of the platform signals a broader push by Saudi financial institutions to upgrade legacy remittance rails ahead of continued economic diversification under Vision 2030.
