The City of Stockbridge received an unmodified audit opinion for fiscal 2025 and ended the year with a $17.9 million General Fund balance.
The City of Stockbridge, Georgia, received the highest level of audit assurance available when independent auditor Mauldin & Associates issued an unmodified, or "clean," opinion on the city's financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, officials announced Thursday.
An unmodified opinion indicates that auditors found the city's financial records to be free of material misstatements and prepared in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. It represents the strongest possible conclusion an independent auditor can render and signals sound financial management to residents, creditors, and oversight bodies.

The city closed fiscal year 2025 with a General Fund balance of $17.9 million, a figure that reflects the municipality's accumulated reserves available for ongoing operations and unexpected expenditures.
