AMU and APU Launch AI Certificate and New Finance Programs
American Military University and American Public University unveil an AI certificate, two finance programs, and six microcredentials targeting first responders and working adults.
American Military University (AMU) and American Public University (APU), both part of the American Public University System, have announced a slate of new academic offerings designed to build workforce-ready skills in artificial intelligence, finance, and emergency services fields.
The expansion includes a new AI certificate program, two finance-focused degree or certificate programs, and six microcredentials aimed specifically at first responders. The institutions, headquartered in Charles Town, West Virginia, said the programs are structured to address growing employer demand for specialized credentials in technology and financial services.

The new finance programs add to AMU and APU's existing portfolio catering largely to military-affiliated students and working adults seeking flexible, online education. The addition of an AI-focused certificate reflects broader institutional movement across U.S. higher education to formalize instruction in generative and applied artificial intelligence as the technology reshapes multiple industries.
